Understanding Dyslexia

The term “specific learning disabilities” refers to an array of learning difficulties due to abnormal development of the brain, which usually results in significant problems in listening, speaking, reading and writing. The most common form of learning disability is “dyslexia” – a difficulty in word recognition, dictation, spelling, reading comprehension and written language processing. Some schoolchildren may also have difficulty in numerical processing.

Pathways’ Anti-Epidemic Measures

To protect the public’s health, all visitors at Pathways Learning Centres (including Kowloon and Shatin) should follow the following anti-epidemic measures.

  1. When coming to the centres, all staff and visitors must wear face masks, measure body temperature and disinfect their hands with alcohol-based handrub. Anyone has fever or symptoms of respiratory tract infection will be refused to enter our centres.
  2. Students must bring their own face masks, otherwise they will not be allowed to attend classes. To enhance protection, centres will also provide protective face shields for students’ use.
  3. To reduce the risk of public gatherings, parents must pick up their children on time and avoid staying in the centres.
  4. For any students or their family members who travelled abroad in the past 14 days, or their schools currently being suspended due to confirmed COVID-19, parents must contact Pathways for follow up on class arrangement.
  5. Parents should make health declaration for their children. The form can be downloaded at http://bit.ly/38oCIvF or is available at our centres.

We would review the class arrangement taking into account of the latest situation, please visit our website (www.pathways.org.hk/?lang=en) for the latest updates.
